Leilac was proud to be represented at the 2nd Australian Conference on Green & Sustainable Chemistry (GASCE24) last week by Gloria Díaz, R&D Program Lead. Held in Melbourne from 8–12 December 2024, the conference brought together global leaders from academia, industry, and government to explore cutting-edge solutions for a sustainable future.
During the Industry Day, Gloria presented on the Applications of Leilac Technology for Decarbonising Lime and Cement Industries, emphasising the role of innovation in industrial decarbonisation.
Her presentation showcased:
- Leilac’s core technology, which efficiently reduces unavoidable CO₂ emissions in cement and lime production.
- Leilac’s role in Direct Air Capture (DAC), including its collaboration with Heirloom to remove atmospheric CO₂.
- Key projects like Project ZETA, demonstrating the capture and utilisation of CO₂ to produce green methanol, advancing the circular carbon economy.

As Gloria highlighted:
“Innovative solutions like Leilac are not just reducing emissions; they are redefining what’s possible in heavy industry decarbonisation.”
GASCE24 provided a valuable platform for thought leaders and innovators to collaborate and share insights into green chemistry, clean energy, and sustainable manufacturing. Participation in events like these underscores Leilac’s commitment to advancing practical, scalable solutions that address hard-to-abate emissions, bringing us closer to a sustainable, net-zero future.
